As we begin the 2009 -2010 school year, Chartwells School Dining Services is pleased to introduce the New Chartbuster program. This year Chartbusters will follow a new format. Instead of one elementary theme for 10 months, we have created 3 separate promotion campaigns to build excitement for elementary, middle and high school students throughout the school year. With each promotion campaign we will roll out EAT, LIVE, LEARN activities each month for all grade levels. Keep your eyes and ears open to see how you can participate in this program.
Kids Stop Cafe is the NEW look in our Elementary Cafeterias and Theodore EAT, Sydney C. LEARN, and Eva LIVE are 3 friends that represent nutrition and healthy living! This year these friends will be learning about a new food focus every month. As each of them make healthy food choices, they will also be spreading the word about good nutrition and healthy eating habits.
To kick off the new year, Chartwells is focusing on Food & Cultures! We will focus on Food & Cultures from October to December. Each month Chartwells will provide cafeteria and classroom activities for all grade levels. In September the Child Nutrition Department will focus on Locally Grown produce. We have teamed up with Foster Caviness and Farming to Friends to get locally grown Tomatoes and Apples. Check out the Promotions below during September. Also, this site will be updated with activities for K-3rd, 4th-5th, middle school, and high school students.
All winners will be sent for regional & national Judging.
Those winners should be announced 4/20/10.

Kimberly Park Elementary won a ZUMBA FITNESS event with 69% breakfast participation in January. They had the highest percentage of participation of participating elementary & Middle Schools. |
