Complete meals are typically a main meal item, two sides and a healthy drink option such as low fat milk, or water.  They are healthy and nutritious, giving you all the vitamins, minerals and caloric intake required to stay healthy throughout the day.  At Chartwells we strive to provide a variety of menu items to best suit the needs of our student customers.

When presenting meal options you should include a protein or protein alternate, a grain, and a fruit or vegetable option.  The USDA meal pattern that you follow will determine more specifically what you will serve within your district.

This year, we have developed three campaigns to spread awareness about our complete meals.  We have Eat Local, Eat Breakfast and Eat for Energy.  Each of these campaigns will focus on options that include high quality, healthy and complete meals.

With the Eat Local campaign, we will be working with local farmers all across the nation to provide fresh vegetables, fruit and meats that has come from within 150 miles of your door.

Eat Breakfast talks about the importance of waking up in the morning and eating a notorious complete breakfast in your body for the start of the day.

And finally Eat for Energy is about eating healthy foods and recognizing that your body performs better with good nutrients.  It is key to continue to replenish those important nutrients throughout the day in order to stay focused, organized and to be successful at everything that you do!
