Pyramid Pete introduces his new friends.... Theodore Eat, Sydney C. Learn and Eva Live!

As we begin the 2007-2008 school year, Chartwells School Dining Services is pleased to introduce the New Chartbuster program. Chartbusters is a year-long program containing promotion ideas and special event activities developed to maximize cafeteria participation in the National School Breakfast and Lunch program.

Each year elementary level, students follow an adventure of fun and nutrition education with the help of Pyramid Pete and his friends. This year we are pleased to present three New friends, Theodore Eat, Sydney C. Learn and Eva Live who will help teach students how to EAT, LEARN & LIVE in 2007-2008. Pete's new friends are representatives of nutrition and healthy living! This year Pyramid Pete and his friends will be learning about a new food focus every month. As Pete makes healthy food choices he will also be spreading the word about good nutrition and healthy eating habits.

• Each month the elementary school menus feature a "food of the month" which usually focus on a "superfood" like blueberries, tomatoes, avacado and others.
  
  APRIL PROMOTIONS
  Elementary:  Join us for Thanksgiving on April Fool's Day and for the Spring fling during the week of April 14th.  We will feature spring vegetables and more.
  
  Middle School:  Take me out to the ball game. If you can't join the Red Sox for opening day at Fenway, celebrate with us in the cafe with ballpark treats!
  
  High School:  Celebrate Diversity Week with us.  We are celebrating generational diversity by featuring food and music from the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, and the future.  The food and the music will reflect the times. Join us for the fun.
  
  MAY PROMOTIONS:
  Elementary:  Cinco de Mayo will be celebrated on May 5th with food and festive music.  National Nurses Day will be on Wednesday, May 7th with Boo Boo Brownies and don't forget to give your school nurse a hug.  And finally, get ready for spring with a focus on fruits! Join us for fruit kebobs, berry parfaits and more.
  
  Middle School: Cinco de Mayo Feast will be celebrated with music and festive foods.  Join in the fun.  Like the elementary schools, we will be preparing homemade Boo Boo Brownies for National Nurses Day.  And finally, don't miss the awesome 5 foot subs that we will be preparing on May 20th.  Welcome to the 5th graders at Clarke on May 13th for orientation.
  
  High School:  Of course, we know that even high school students like the Cinco de Mayo celebration and we will indeed be celebrating.  The Minuteman Deli in Commons 1 on Tuesday's is wonderful.  Fresh Carved Turkey roasted on site carved to order and placed on wonderful warm rolls with an assortment of condiments and sides.  It is a great deal for $4.50.  Also, watch the weather because we will surely be grilling in the Commons 2 patio.  Come and celebrate the summer.
  There will be no breakfast service on May 21, 22 or 23 due to MCAS exams.  And beginning on May 21st to the end of the school year, Commons 2 will close after second lunch and the menu has been set up for quick and speedy service so that you can enjoy the warm May days.
